About Ethan

Ethan Lee, 17, is a senior at Newton North High School and the student founder, interviewer, writer, narrator, and producer of Veterans' Voices of Newton. He hosts extensive long-form interviews of around 1-2 hours in length with interested veterans and then develops each conversation into a narrated audio podcast. Each episode is unique and supported by research, archival context, music, and sound. His goal is to provide enough structure to help listeners follow the story while keeping the veteran’s own voice at the center.

Ethan’s interests include oral history, archival preservation, audio production, engineering, and music—particularly artists such as the Beatles and the Beach Boys. He is also an enthusiastic viewer of unapologetically cheesy 1980s movies. Veterans' Voices lets Ethan combine his enthusiasm for history, storytelling, interviewing, and audio production to preserve local veterans’ stories for audiences now and for the future.
